The F.A.Q's....

What happens when I complete a PeerMatch survey?

When you complete a PeerMatch survey on Typeform, you should receive a confirmation email to the email you have provided us with. At this point, your survey results will be stored anonymously amongst all of the other answers in that survey. The next time you receive an email from us will be when we send you your match(es).

I didn't get a confirmation email?

If you didn't receive a confirmation email you may have given an incorrect email address. Please also be sure to check your Junk/Other folders. If you still cannot find your confirmation email, please contact us with your email address.

I haven't got a match yet, what does this mean?

If the survey is still running or matches are yet to be calculated, you will not have received a match yet. We will always put up a post when matches are due to be sent out along with a post stating that they have been sent out. Please allow some time for your match email to arrive in your inbox. If it hasn't arrived after 24 hours of the matches being sent, please contact us with your email address. If you have unsubscribed from our mailing list you will not receive a match either.

My match's email is invalid?

If your match's email is invalid, you are best trying to find them via social media using the name they provided in their survey.

I have typed my email in wrong?

If you have typed in your email wrong when taking the PeerMatch survey and the survey is still open, please retake the survey and then contact us to tell us you have done this so we can remove the survey response with the incorrect email. If the survey has closed then unfortunately you must wait until the next iteration of your universities survey to participate.

What emails are valid?

Please ensure you do not use any form of personal email such as gmail, hotmail, yahoo etc. Make sure you use your standard university email and not the number-based version. E.g. jsmith1@qub.ac.uk

How am I matched with someone?

How compatible you are with your match is derived from the answers you provide in your PeerMatch survey response and how similar both of your answers are. Some questions bear a greater weighting than others, dependant on their importance.

Can I get more than one match?

The majority of PeerMatch participants will receive one match however there are instances whereby some people will receive two matches and in very rare cases, they will receive three. This is due to the nature of the algorithm and the answers that are put into it when a survey closes.

I don't like my match!

We are sorry to hear that. Maybe next time?

How long does it take to get a match?

Surveys will run for between 1-2 weeks and then close shortly afterwards. After a survey closes, it can take up to two days before matches are made and ready to email out however sometimes the process can be shorter and depends on the type of survey being run at the time.

I missed the survey, what can I do?

You can sign up to receive an email update on when the next PeerMatch survey is live at your university via the simple update form on the relevant survey page on this website.

PeerMatch isn't at my university, what can I do?
